Is it worth getting a roof inspection?

In short, yes, regular roof inspections can prevent the majority of roofing issues by spotting them early, and before they develop into costly roof repairs. Issues such as damaged or missing tiles, or areas of heat loss can be signs that bigger problems like structural weakness, or dampness are about to develop.

This is even more important for commercial buildings such as factories or warehouses, where roof repairs and replacements can have a significant impact on the ongoing operation of a business.

How much does a commercial building roof survey cost?

Drone surveys for commercial properties usually start at £700 but can become more expensive for bigger warehouses or factories with complex geographies.

For example, for a large warehouse or factory with only a large single flat roof, the survey will be much quicker and therefore cheaper.

Meanwhile a commercial roof with multiple storeys, roofs of different shapes and pitch, and spread out over a large area will take longer, require a more complex flight path with additional planning time, and cost more.

Do you offer thermal drone surveys for commercial buildings?

Yes, we offer thermal drone surveys as part of our commercial roof inspection service.

These can help to identify areas of heat loss which can save your company thousands. They can also identify water ingress, and spot areas which need repair before they are visible to the naked eye.

How long does a roof survey take?

A roof survey for a residential building should take around 1 to 2 hours, for the drone surveying. However, a commercial roof survey can take anywhere from half a day to multiple days. This depends on the size and scale of the roof that needs surveying. For example, a simple flat factory roof will be much simpler than the largest warehouse roofs that have multiple levels.

The analysis of the images will also take a day or two, depending on how much work needs to be done to the roof and how much data needs to be analysed.
